PAM Cooking Spray: My review and special offer for you

As a member of Smiley360, I was able to try and review PAM cooking spray. My mission was to make a messy dish to see just how effective the product worked. I chose cheesy chicken enchilada's. For those of you who had ever made them, especially in glass casserole type dishes, you know the cheese can get baked on and serving the food can become a hassle if it sticks. The enchilada's came out of the pan with ease and stayed in tact. When it came time to clean up, all I had to do was rinse and stick in the dish washer. There was no extra scrubbing or need to use a brillo pad (as I would have had to previously do). PAM made this dinner hassle free and allowed me to enjoy the great taste of the dinner and easy clean up.

Do you use Pam when you cook? If so, for what, and what was your experience with it?

Here is my special offer to you: $.50 off a can of Pam cooking spray. Simply click the link below and follow the easy instructions.

PAM Cooking Spray: Thanks PAM for my free can of cooking spray! Be sure to check out #PAM on Facebook. http://on.fb.me/od4C5b

Disclosure: I received a coupon to redeem for a free can of Pam spray courtesy of Pam and Smiley360. All the opinions are my own from my own experience.

Torani Syrups Review and Giveaway

I just got to try a product that I have fallen in love with! I love coffee and tea, and I love flavor. Thanks to Torani and Shespeaks I experienced Torani Flavor Syrups. Let me tell you a little about this product. Torani offers an AMAZING variety of syrups that can be added into beverages- from coffee, to tea, to even alcoholic mixed drinks the sky is the limit with what you can create. Diabetic? No problem, Torani even offers sugar free products (which is great for family since my dad is diabetic). To see all the flavors check out their website and explore. I think I want just about every one of them.
So now let me tell you about my recipe. Using my Kuerig I brewed a plain flavor cup of coffee. I like cream and sugar in mine, but to really taste the flavor of the syrup I kept it lighter than usual. Next I added the Torani Pumpkin Pie Syrup (you can chose how much) and gave it a stir. I love pumpkin pie, but this tasted like I was drinking it. So delicious and tasty. The syrup was not heavy so it didn't "weigh" my drink down. What a perfect drink for this time of year!

I am already thinking ahead with the new combinations I want to try. Perhaps some freshly brewed iced tea and add the mango syrup, or the peach syrup?

Now here is the best news. I get to give a chance for one of you to try this awesome product as well. I'll be giving away a coupon for a FREE bottle. That's right... FREE! Who doesn't like free. Want to enter? Here's how:
1)Follow my blog
2)Leave a comment to this post describing a drink recipe you would create based off the flavors you saw on their website.
3)Send a friend to this blog post and have them post a comment saying you referred them. (Send more than one friend and it increases your chances)

Winners will be chosen at random and will be announced 11/22/11. Good luck :)

Disclosure: I received this great sampling opportunity as a member of SheSpeaks. All opinions are my own. No monetary compensation was received.

Need a Few Extra Dollars?

A friend of my turned me onto a site that has allows me to take a few surveys and watch a few videos to earn some extra cash. No you won't get paid massive amounts to do this, but each survey is worth anywhere from $.50 to $.80 ...... so a few those can add up. Most surveys are about products for consumers, your shopping habits, etc. and take anywhere from 5 mins to 30 mins at most (depending upon the complexity of the survey). Sometimes you will get to a certain point and they've determined you didn't qualify for the survey because you do not fit the demographic they are looking for. This site does not ask for your bank information, or credit card information, but just your basic info and address. Once you have earned $20.00 they simply mail you a check and you keep working to make another $20.00. You can make up to $600.00 a year on this before it becomes taxable income, so if you keep it under that, you are set! You do get $$ for referals, but trust me, its not significant at all, maybe $.02. I just know in a few days I have made almost $10.00 by giving my opinion, and I am sure others who have some spare time would enjoy doing the same. Sound like something you are interested in?

Well then check out Cash Crate here.

I stick to doing surveys, videos, and a once a day check in (worth $.03) per day you check in. The offers, etc usually require you to purchase something to get the credit...so I stick to the stuff I KNOW is free for me to do. The video clips are short commercials that will flash two random numbers on the side. At the end of the clip you just type in the two numbers to verify you watched it, and that's it. It's that simple!

Shoot me an email if you have any questions regarding how to make the $$, how to use the site, etc. Hope you can snag some extra cash!

I am also testing driving some other programs where I am a tester for consumer products as long as I give a review about the product once used. Should these turn out to be legit I will be sharing those as well for you to take advantage of, so stay posted :)

Who Says You Can't Save At A Restaurant?

I would like to thank a friend of mine from high school, Ashley Serano, for suggesting this blog topic and compiling some of the research for its contents. Kudos!

In this ever struggling and over priced economy many people are afraid to dine out. A lot of chain restaurants offer loyalty cards, frequent flyer rewards, and exclusive email offers. Have a favorite restaurant? Look into it to see what they offer.
[*Disclaimer- as one who has worked 8 years in the restaurant business-please DO NOT go to out to eat a restaurant if you cannot afford to leave a decent tip. :) Thanks!]

Ashley was kind enough to do some looking and found these deals at well known restaurants-

Red Robin has Royalty Cards. For every 9th burger you buy, you get the 10th free. Free App within 2 weeks of registering. Free burger on your birthday. Other rewards from time to time. The card can be signed up for in the restaurant and once you have a card number, other offers can be obtained by registering on the website! YUMMMM :)

Texas Roadhouse- sign up online to become a VIP. You will receive emails for birthday deals, special VIP deals, and other VIP bonus information sent to your email. (Just make sure you have access to a printer as you will need to present the coupons to your server upon sitting down). Click here to sign up. Yeehaw!

Chili's- email club, sends you the latest deals, monthly exclusive offers, and free chips and queso for signing up. Also look for them on Foursquare if you have the app on your phone. Last time I checked if you "checked in" and showed your server you did, you got a free chips and salsa.

Ruby Tuesdays- So Connected. Sends emails or deals via text. You can receive a free burger for your birthday, exclusive deals (like buy 1, get 1, perfect for a date night), latest menu specials and other promotional updates.

Don Pablos- Habeneros Club Card from the restaurant. $10 on your birthday, $10 on your club anniversary, $10 9th visit reward, free dip sampler for signing up, and other specials.

Outback- My Outback Rewards. Sign up for this program and keep your receipts as you will need to bring back the code printed on the receipt to input on line. This will keep track of your spending at the restaurant and reward you with special redeemable offers. Check out My Outback Rewards for more information.

Check back for more deals as I will look into other restaurants and what they have to offer. Have a restaurant that you know does the same thing? Leave me a comment with the info and I will be sure to feature it in an upcoming blog post. Also- look for a part two to this blog for general money saving tips for restaurants.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

No Coupon Inserts

Its one of those dreaded weeks couponers hate.....no inserts in the paper! But don't fret, you can still snag some awesome coupons- if you know where to look. And hey on the bright side, this is a free week to give your hands a much needed break from clipping, and a chance to organize those ones you clipped from last week.

Mosey on over to coupons.com and search their database. They constantly add new coupons. Try putting in different zip codes when you search. You may end up snagging a coupon that wasn't available when you searched with yours.

Take the time you would have spent clipping coupons to search the company brands on facebook. For example, Skinny Cow just posted a Fan Exclusive for a $1.00 printable coupon.

Or you could find email addresses for the companies you would like to receive coupons from but don't have. Not all companies have coupons available, but its worth a shot. I usually tell them I enjoy their product, am on a tight budget, and would be interested in a coupon to purchase their product. I have snagged several coupons this way.

Last but not least, check out the magazine All You. They offer amazing coupons in their magazine as well as some awesome articles! Definitely worth picking up a copy.

Happy Easter everyone! Don't forget to leave a comment, and perhaps pass the page along to your friends...I am sure they could benefit from these savings tips too :)

Tips for Couponing Newbies

In order to maximize your savings I have compiled several tips/guidelines/rules that one should know if they have the desire and urge to make couponing a way of life. I hope you find these helpful.

1. Please check your store's coupon policy and become familiar with it. Some will double coupons but only up to a certain amount. Others do not double at all and only redeem coupons for the face value. Others only allow you to double up to three of the same coupon in one single transaction. For example, Walmart excepts manufacturer coupons, but they do not double. So if they sell mustard for 1.56 and you have a coupon for $.50 cents off, you are paying $1.06. Martins supermarket in Eldersburg doubles everyday up to $.99 (meaning the value of the coupon becomes $1.98 off; $1.00 coupons or greater are usually NOT doubled). Because of the different rules per each store and business, please familiarize yourself. Most of the time you can find their coupon policy on their website, and if you still have questions call the store- someone there will lay out the guidelines for you.

2. If you think you may run into any issues, print the policy and take it in with you. Cashiers aren't schooled in their stores coupon policy, so it's better to be safe than sorry.

3. You can receive overage for an item at some stores. I know Walmart, Target, and Dollar General allow this. This means if the coupon value is more than what the item is worth, you get the money to apply to your order. For example, the $3.00 off Nivea body wash coupon from this past week can be used at Dollar General where they sell the product for $2.50. You as the consumer get that $.50 applied to your order. So if you are buying an item you don't have coupons for, this is pretty much like getting a discount on it anyway.

4. Stacking coupons is allowed by many stores. Stacking means you can apply a store coupon and a manufacturers coupon to maximize the amount saved. Safeway usually has store coupons in their weekly circular found in the paper. Walgreens does as well. Let's say Safeway has Kraft Cheese Singles Slices regularly priced at $3.50, but in their circular they have a coupon that places the price at $2.50 (with use of store loyalty card). You would present the coupon and your store card to get that price. Even better is if you have manufacturers coupon because you can use this as well to lower the price even more. So if you have a $.50 coupon for that product that the store doubles (again all stores are different), that becomes $1.00 of the sale price of $2.50. You would get that item for $1.50. Now you may ask- how do I know the difference between a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon? The coupon will tell you on the face of it...it will either say Manufacturer or the name of the store. Target's coupons say "Target Coupon".

5. Some stores accept competitor coupons. For example, Walmart may take a Target coupon. This is why it's important to check those individual store policies again.

6. Please use the coupon exactly for what it is intended for. If the coupon says, excluding trial sizes, and you use it on that and the register excepts it, that is coupon fraud. The coupon will specify what it should be used on/for. Other's aren't so specific and may say "$1.00 of ANY".

7. Bigger isn't always better. Smaller portions tend to be priced cheaper, and if the coupon can be applied you can get the product for fractions of the cost of the larger product. If you have several coupons you can pick up more than one of that item to equal a larger size, and usually still end up paying less.

8. Keep note of where you find the best prices. Sometimes Target's prices of an item are cheaper than Walmart, and vice versa. This makes it easier to use the coupon again in the future when you need the item again. Getting the best value means shopping at multiple stores and being brand flexible. If you usually use Skippy, but there is a coupon for Peter Pan, would you be willing to use the other product if it meant you were saving? (Not all coupons make it a good deal. If the brand you use is still cheaper than the item there is a coupon for, go with the latter....just because you have a coupon doesn't mean you HAVE to use it....this is called impulse buying).

9. With gas prices on the rise, it is best to knock your shopping all out at once, especially if you are going to several stores. You don't want to run out to one store for one item just to get a deal (that deal will be back again I am certain).

10. Sales are cyclical. This means that usually once a month a certain item goes on sale for a really low price. This is why it's best to check the grocery store circulars either on line or that come in the paper. I like to try to hold off buying the item until I know its at a really low price. Once you get into the groove of couponing you will know what's a good price, when something is due to go on sale, and where the best deals are.

11. LIKE COMPANY PAGES ON FACEBOOK. I cannot stress this one enough. Many times companies do freebies, giveaways, special coupon promotions, etc. Definitely worth it. Sure your news feed gets flooded, but considering the perks, its worth the sacrifice. Now you may ask- what about the junk email I could get for signing up. Simple- create a free email at either google, hotmail, yahoo, etc, and designate that email address for all sign ups. This way your real email stays clutter free.

12. Utilize websites like Coupon Mom. It's free to sign up for and they offer so many wonderful tools. They offer store match ups, printable coupons, etc. Wonderful site to explore!

13. Learning to coupon takes time. The first few times I did not understand everything I am explaining now, so my savings weren't that great. Now I can get my amount owed to 35-50% off.

14. Extreme Couponing, as featured on TLC, is far from realistic. Possible, yes. But these people don't do extreme hauls all the time. This is usually a once every so often, hence why its called EXTREME.

15. Be organized and develop a method that works best for you. I use the binder method as opposed to the accordian method. I know others who use an index card box with dividers. Some have no method at all. The more organized you are the easier couponing is.

16. Where can you find coupons? The weekend paper is usually the best place. Smart Source and Red Plum usually are in there every week, and P&G saver usually once a month. Check out places like www.coupons.com for internet printable coupons. But beware internet printable scams....if a site wants you to pay for their printable coupon, its not legit. If you want to see if a coupon you have printed is fake or real, please refer to the Coupon Information Corporation website for help.

17. Network and blog! There are many stay at home moms or retired moms who are out looking for the best deals too and love to share. In this economy we all have to have each others back! When you find one, share it! Others will appreciate this simple deed.

18. Target coupons are printable on their site. Two prints allowed per coupons. Some are store coupons and some are manufacturer....just make sure you check once its printed. They add new ones often, so visit frequently. Check it out here.

19. Walmart also offers promotions where you can receive free samples for products. Click here to explore this. This is only available some times, not always.

20. Be courteous of other shoppers. Some block shelves because they are busy searching for coupons, or go at the peak of grocery shopping hours when the lines are long. I try to go during the least busy hours so that I do not hold other shoppers up.

I'll be adding more tips! Leave a comment if you have any questions, would like further clarification, or would like to add one of your own tips/rules/guidelines. Thanks for stopping by :)

Spring Cleaning Savings

Spring has sprung and it's time to honor that ye old dreaded tradition.....SPRING CLEANING! But with these bargains listed, spring cleaning can be fun since you know you saved money doing it :)

Lysol Wipes- fantastic for cleaning surfaces and ridding of Bacteria! Head on over to their facebook page Lysol, click like, turn on the printer, and print out the coupon they are offering. These go quick so don't hesitate. (You may have to install a coupon printer driver on the computer first, but this takes seconds and is well worth it!) The coupon is for $1.50 off any Lysol Wipes. That's amazing coupon! Hop on over to Dollar General where they are currently on sale for 3 for $5.00 (or $1.67 each) and it becomes $.17 for one. Awesome. Target also has them on sale right now if there is not a Dollar General close to you. This comes out to be $.39 a piece at Target if redeemed there. (Thanks Consumer Queen for the Dollar General find...I bought mine at Target before I knew about this deal!)

Airwick had some amazing coupons this week in the circuluars. Did you clip the Buy One Get One free coupon on their spray cans? Walmart or Dollar General is the best place to redeem these. I got mine and now my house smells so fresh and so clean. Oh, the price. Yes, well Walmart sells them for $.97 or maybe $1.00 at most. So with the BOGO deal, you get not one but TWO for that price, making them $.50 each.

Remember those Gain coupons I mentioned in my previous post? Well there was also one for $1.00 off any Febreeze with Gain. Skip on over to the trial/travel section of Walmart and look for their Febreze to go with Gain. This sells for $1.97 but with the $1.00 off, you get it for $.97.

I'll be posting more finds soon so keep checking back.

Savings and Match Ups

Ok so you've clipped your coupons from this week and now you are wondering "where can I use these to get the best deals?" While I may not have all the answers, I can provide some that I have used before. So check those coupons, and get to saving! If you have a deal you found, please submit it to me @ foreveryoung485@hotmail.com so I can post and share for others (no worries, I'll give you the credit for finding it!)

There was a coupon for Orbit Gum - Get $1 off any 2 single packs. CVS sells these for $1.37 but also has them on sale for a few more days for BOGO. This means you can get two packs of gum for just a steal of $.37 That's a deal worth chewing on.

Gain also released coupons for $1 off any detergent and $1 off any fabric softner/sheets. Head on over to Walmart to use these. Gain dish detergent is $.97, so with $1 dollar off, you are merely paying tax only. The Gain fabric sheets, 4o count I believe are around $1.87- combined with your one dollar off coupon you pay only $.87 (plus tax, of course).

This next find is thanks to Rachel Dembeck. She used her $3.00 off Nivea body wash that was released this past week and found Dollar General sells the item for $2.50. With their coupon policy, they apply the overage of the $.50 to something else on your purchase. What a find! Congrats Rachel and thanks for sharing.

Make sure you follow my blog. I'll be posting more ways to snag freebies, samples, coupon deals, and general tips for couponing. If you have any questions, leave a comment with your name, and I will try to answer your questions in a timely manner. Thanks for stopping by!
